Alexandre Farto aka Vhils had the opening night party (it's not called a PV at Laz anymore) for his Dissonance show in London last Thursday and artbleat crashed the door with camera in hand only to instantly be reminded how problematic it is to get good shots of the work when the house is packed.
There were no new ideas in the form of experimentation presented by Vhils, but that was not what was expected the work on show was large, varied, dirty and satisfied us, as long time admirers of his work.
Known for his large street work which involves chipping and carving out faces from freshly rendered walls Vhils has moved his craft into the galley with bleach screen prints, acid etched metal, carvings on doors, paper and a for this show at Lazarides beautiful a polystyrene piece that hits you as you walk in the door.
This show is the final leg of what could be described as a European tour, allegedly there will not be any more Vhils shows for a long time. So if you are in London have a look it's worth it, if not then there are a few photos HERE from the opening night.
