As the Ibiza season draws to a close Urban in Ibiza are also planning their end of term bow, Trip the Light Can'tastic (who thought of that?) is an event that sees them flying some of the UK's top street artists over to the white isle to paint the famous white walled buildings of Las Dalias, coupled with an exhibition of the artist's work and a big old Ibiza party long into the early hours.

The event is happening on Thursday 29th September, but the art is underway now.

Among the roster of artists who are busy painting are Inkie, Fanakapan, Carl Cashman, Carne Griffiths, Cheba, Lemak, MauMau, Otto Schade, B-Toy and more. The exterior of the building that houses the Ibiza Hippy market will become a street art gallery that will from 7pm play host to a party featuring Kikkr from Netherlands / France followed by Hot Ice. Both will play in the Las Dalias courtyard and will be followed by big name Ibiza DJ’s in the indoor disco: DJ Pippi, Willie Graff, George Solar, Von Adams, DJ Samir, and Honey O.

So this is what the building looks like now and hopefully I will be able to post up photos of the artwork as it's finished.

If you want to find out more then as usual there are some links at the bottom of the page.

Before nipping down to Bristol to paint at Upfest, Osch aka Otto Schade hung around to open his self-titled solo show in East London. Well Hung Gallery in Hoxton played host to both sides of Otto's street art persona. There was an equal mix of the political stencil silhouettes that can be found in abundance on walls in this part of London and his intricate fantasy influenced ribbon man paintings.

Sadly the prints on offer, both the free and the £95 ones looked a little quiet next to the vibrant colours and though provoking messages in the rest of the show.

If you can get down before the exhibition ends on 23rd August then do keep an eye out for the large street piece about 50 m down from the gallery.

You can see the rest of the photos from the opening night by hitting the Gallery link in the Menu Bar above.
