Banksy in London

By Harry, Apr 28 2019 09:00PM

Banksy made a return to the streets of London on Thursday night (25/4) to show his support for the Extinction Rebellion movement. The stencil work depicting a girl planting a seedling and labeling it with the Extinction symbol appeared on a wall next to Marble Arch. The area was the location for the final night party of the movement's two week non violent campaign in London and other major cities around the globe designed to raise awareness about climate breakdown and force governments to commit to a plan of action to combat the problem.

The stencil work has now been placed behind Perspex by Westminster City Council, luckily we were able to take some photos early Friday before this happened.

The Extinction symbol was originally created by East London artist ESP and adopted by Extinction Rebellion when they formed in May 2018.

You can read about the artists intentions and download the symbol HERE.
